Lazy girl hair hacks for the summer

Heat is on. We’ve got the tips to keep you looking cool even on the hottest days of the season. Read on for some surprisingly simple, yet super-chic hair hacks for those dog days of summer when you just can’t be bothered to primp.

Too hot to blow dry?

Tie your hair into a double-knot bun. This is a really simple style to master on wet hair. Start by rubbing Schwarzkopf essence ULTIME™ Amber+ Oil Nutrition™ Oil-in-Serum through your hair and put it into a high pony, splitting the tail in two. Tie the pieces in a knot by crossing one section over the other and pulling it through. Repeat this one more time for the double knot. Tuck the ends under the bun, and secure with a few pins.

Want beachy waves without the beach?

The easiest way to get sexy, loose waves is with a braid. Rub Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME™ Biotin+ Volume™ Mousse through your wet hair and tie it into a loose braid in the back of your head. The looser the braid, the bigger the waves. Once your hair is dry, unravel your braid to reveal sexy beachy waves.

Bangs greasy from sunscreen?

Keep them away from your face in a French braid. Start with a heavy side part and section your bangs into three strands to begin your French braid. Continue on French braiding (pulling up pieces of your hair and adding them into the outside sections of the original braid while you continue braiding the original strands). Use the end of your comb or brush and pull out small strands of hair to make this look more messy and tousled. When you get to the point where the braid is towards the side of your head right around the point above your ear, secure it with a small elastic and finish with Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME™ Crystal Shine™ Hair Spray.

Feeling hot and sweaty?

Keep hair off your neck by pulling it into a high pony. You can also braid the tail for a chicer version. To make your braid look fuller and textured, do this: After you secure your tightly braided mane with a hair tie, gently tug the braid's pieces to loosen them a bit.

Humidity frizzing you out?

Use a T-shirt instead of a towel to dry your wet hair. Terry-cloth towels pull too much moisture out of your hair, which makes it frizzy, but the smooth cotton of a shirt will remove the excess water and leave your hair less frizzy. If you’re still left with some frizz, embrace it and make it work with your hairstyle. Spray your wet hair with Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME™ Satin Frizz Control™ Straightening Spray and pull it back into an effortless bun or braid. Loosen some of the flyways around your face for a messy style that looks intentional.
