Hairstyle Trends Review for the Fall 2015 Runways

During last year’s past fashion week, the New York and Parisian runways were full of hair inspiration. There were tons of approachable, everyday looks to wear without hesitation. From sexy bedhead hair to textured low buns, celebrity hair stylist Richard Collins reviews some of his favorite hairstyle trends from the fall 2014 runways in anticipations of this year’s upcoming fashion week.

One trend from the fall runways relied on volume and loose waves. This look gave the models a messy but clean look that rocked the runways.  Collins says this sexy bedhead hair is simple to recreate. Start with clean, dry hair and create a middle part with your fingers since the style should appear a little undone. Apply a generous amount of Schwarzkopf essence ULTIME Biotin Volume & Vitality Root Lift Spray directly to the roots. Blow dry, roughing up hair with your fingers to create volume. Once the hair is almost dry, finish with a round brush to smooth the ends, then back-comb-comb hair at the crown until it looks voluminous. Brush a small section of hair over the crown to cover the backcombed section. Working with two-inch sections, curl with a 1 1/2-inch curling iron. To finish, run your hands through the curls and set with Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine & Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray.

Another trend that caught Collins’ attention off the Parisian runways was headbands and he’s confident this look will continue in to the fall. Chic satin headbands pull hair back, while adding dainty feminine touches and bringing the focus down to the eyes. Whether worn on top or across the forehead they’re always a great accessory. Then with the hair, create a messy soft texture or gathered loose French twists. Collins recommends misting your strands with Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME Elastin Curls & Moisture Soft Toussle Spray for texture and hold, then pining hair loosely into place. Finish by tying a satin ribbon over the top as a headband.

A slightly sleeker trend, straight from the New York runways, was the deconstructed chignon. The models’ hair was un-fussily pulled back at the nape of the neck in a look that Collins says is easy to recreate. Start with clean, damp hair and scrunch a golf ball-sized amount of Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME Biotin+ Volume & Texture Superb Volume Mousse throughout, then blow-dry it with a diffuser. Once your hair is completely dry, sweep it all back into a low loose ponytail. Grab pieces of the pony at random and twist and pin them to the back of your head until all of the loose hair has been used up to form a chignon. Slide your fingers under the hair on top, then gently lift them to loosen the style. Then, back-comb a few wispy pieces out at the front to frame your face and finish your look with Schwarzkopf styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray.

When it comes to the runways of Fashion Week, no trends are more exciting than the hair. You have to wait for that limited edition lipstick to come out next season, or that amazing pair of heels to hit stores, but hair you can re-create immediately. So try out some of the hottest hair trends from Fashion Week now and be ready to rock your new look with your favorite Schwarzkopf products at the start of the season.
