Holiday Party Beauty Report: Hair Edition

Before the ball drops and the year is over, there will be plenty of parties and festivities all around. No matter what your plans are for the holidays, having knockout hair at every celebration is a given. To get you in the spirit, we’ve pulled together some of the year’s top hair trends to inspire your looks this holiday season.

The easiest way to glitz up an otherwise subtle look is with a hair ornament. Blinged-out headbands, clips and crowns are the lazy girl’s secret to looking fancy. Start by prepping your wet hair with essence ULTIME Diamond Color and Radiance Oil Elixir to give smoothness and shine, then blow it dry with a large paddle brush. Part your hair deep on one side, and gather it at the nape of your neck. Twist it into a knot, then loosen the hair at the crown. Mist on styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hairspray, before fastening a brooch or clip at the side of the twist.

For a flirty style, try a voluminous ponytail. Mist wet hair with styliste ULTIME Biotin+ Volume and Vitality Root Lift Spray. Flip your head over and blow-dry with a large round brush. Once your hair is dry, curl the ends up to the middle with a two-inch curling iron. Tease the roots, then gather your hair into a high ponytail. Conceal the elastic by wrapping a section of hair around it and securing with a bobby pin.

If there's ever a time to let your curls run wild, holiday parties are it! Big, bold ringlets give off a fun, free-spirit vibe perfect for celebrating. Naturally curly-haired girls should wash and condition with essence ULTIME Satin Frizz Control & Protect, to eliminate frizz. Run some styliste ULTIME Elastin Curls and Moisture Curl Defining Cream through your hair and let it air-dry. Then wind one-inch-wide sections around a small-barrel curling iron in a haphazard fashion all over the head. Some sections should look carefully curled, others more rough. Finish by using your fingers to gently shape curls to desired fullness.

A low ballerina bun is gorgeous for a more formal occasion—not to mention the ideal style to show off a pair of statement earrings. While hair is damp, spray it with styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine and Hold Heat Protection Shine Spray. After blowing it dry, part hair in the center and smooth it into a low ponytail. Slip your hair into a sock-bun tool, available at most beauty supply stores, which winds hair into a perfectly round shape. Secure with bobby pins and finish with styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray.

If your goal is to look like a classic beauty at your party, retro waves is the way to go. To create super soft, glamorous waves, reach for the hot rollers. Part dry hair deep to one the side. Spray heated rollers with styliste ULTIME Biotin+ Volume and Vitality H20 Free Hairspray, then wrap one-and-a-half to two-inch sections of hair around the rollers, rolling them toward your face. Once they cool, remove them and comb through curls with a dual-bristle flat brush. Finish by dabbing some styliste ULTIME Crystal Shine and Hold Transparent Polishing Cream on your ends.
