Soft Sexy Romantic Hair for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is almost here and whether you’ll be on a big date with your special someone or hanging out with your best girl friends, your hair should be soft, touchable, and romantic. Celebrity hair stylist Richard Collins gives us his picks for the most romantic hairstyles to keep you looking lovely all night long.

A Loose Side Braid is not only flirty and fun, but Richard says, works well for both a casual and special night. Start by applying Schwarzkopf Biotin Volume and Texture Superb Volume Mousse evenly through your hair from roots to ends. Blow-dry with a small to medium round brush, and part your hair to the side. Tease the crown and sides and smooth with a comb. Gather your hair into a low side ponytail, covering both ears, and loosely secure with an elastic. Richard says this will give ease and control as you braid. Start twisting a three-strand braid, keeping it tight at the base and loosening as you move to the ends. Secure the end with a clear elastic, and then tug the braid horizontally to create a piecey effect. Snip the top elastic once you're finished, and you're ready for romance.

A similar style with the same easy-going vibe, yet still ultra-romantic, is a Messy Undone Knot. Again, Richard says this one works for both a low-key and a special event.

First, create a side part on dry hair using your fingers. Loosely curl your entire head with a one-and-a-half-inch curling iron. Tease the crown, and then smooth the top layer over with a comb. Gather your hair at the nape and secure it with an elastic, then lightly tease the ponytail and mist in a non-sticky hair spray, such as Schwarzkopf Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray. Randomly twist pieces from the ponytail and pin them up, letting some of the ends poke out. Then pull out a few pieces to frame the face. Finish with a mist of Schwarzkopf Diamond Color & Radiance Shine Boost Tonic.

One of the most classically romantic styles, according to Richard, is Simple Soft Waves. Begin by blowing hair dry with a round brush, then part hair down the middle and smooth in Schwarzkopf Crystal Shine and Hold Transparent Polishing Cream. Divide your hair into two layers, pinning the top layer aside. Using a triple-barrel curling iron, start one and a half inches from the roots, and wrap in a section of hair and clamp down for 15 seconds. Repeat this process as you move down to the mid shaft and ends, and then again as you make your way across the rest of your head. Once the bottom layer is curled, unpin the top section of the hair and do the same. Finish with Schwarzkopf Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray.

This Valentine’s Day, show off your sweet side with a look that is not only gorgeous, but dreamy and romantic. Choose one of Richard’s favorite options for soft, sexy, touchable hair and look like a heroine from your favorite romance novel. And each look is surprisingly easy to master using your favorite Schwarzkopf products!
